This Must Be the Island — Liga Hanai e Motu

This Must Be the Island — Liga Hanai e Motu is the story of poet-artists John Puhiatau Pule and Gregory O’Brien and their creative friendship.

Theirs is an all-encompassing collaboration, featuring making collaborative etchings, corresponding, writing poetry and immersing themselves in Moana Oceania. The book, published by Massey University Press documents this collaboration. 

The cover illustration is a composite of several of their works, which I brought together as a collage especially for the book.
