Anna Brown

Anna is a mentor to me, and one of my favourite collaborators.

She is an award-winning designer and typographer. She is known for her collaborative approach to book design, exploring narrative forms that result in gallery-based book installations and participatory performance works as well as catalogues and artists’ books. Through projects with visual artists and musicians, she investigates the concept of the expanded book in a digital age. Brown teaches in the School of Design at the College of Creative Arts, Massey University, Wellington, New Zealand. There she is Director of Toi Āria, an initiative that explores design for public good.
