Te Papa Press Thinking About series

The Thinking About series for Te Papa Press began in 2018, with Women Now, twelve dynamic essays by leading New Zealand thinkers mark 125 years since New Zealand won the right to vote, framed around objects from the collection at Te Papa.

The cover features a hand-printed woodcut, the block for which I found by chance in the College of Creative Arts' print room. I tracked down Stefan Messam, who had made her back in his student days and graciously let me bring her to life. The type and Te Papa logo were lasercut and printed by hand too.

The next book will come out in late 2019 and follows the same format – 12 essays on objects from the collection related to James Cook.
